The Six Mountain Peaks of Righteousness

Ibrahim ibn Adham rahmatullah alayh said to a man who was doing a tawaf:

“Know that you will not attain the rank of righteous until you have climbed six mountain peaks.

First, you must shut the door of pleasant life and open the door of hardship.

Second, you must shut the door of self glorification and open the door of humility.

Third, you must shut the door of quiet and open the door of self exertion.

Fourth, you must shut the door of sleep and open the door of vigil.

Fifth, you must shut the door of wealth and open the door of poverty.

Sixth, you must shut the door of hope and open the door of readiness for death.”

For sisters only

Assalamu alaykum dear sisters, since I understand that some sisters will not be able to attend due to difficulties. I have decided to hold the Naseeha session also on Skype, so that sisters can listen from the comfort of their homes and make new companionships from there. The session will focus mainly on the struggles that we have to go through in Ramadan and how we can get through it. I hope through this that we can also create a community of support, love and understanding. Those sisters who are still interested in coming to my house are most welcome. Just drop me an email and we will take it from there. Please if you can add me on skype through your phone, tablet, etc. before Friday afternoon, I can start with some introductory stuff. The details are as below:

The creation of Jannah and Jahannum

“When  Allah  created Jannat, He said to Jibra-eel, ‘Go and look at it (Jannat)!’ He (Jibra-eel) went and looked at it. He returned and said, ‘O my RABB By Your Splendour, there will not be a person who hears of it but will enter it.’

Allah  Ta’ala then covered it (Jannat) with hardships and said, ‘O Jibra-eel ! Go and look at it’ He went and looked at it. He returned and said, ‘O my RABB By Your Splendour, I fear that not a person will enter it (Jannat).’

And when  Allah  Ta’ala created the Fire, He said, ‘O Jibra-eel ! Go and look at it’ He went and looked at it. He returned and said, ‘O my RABB By Your Splendour, whoever hears of it will never enter it.’

Allah  then covered it (the Fire) with desires and said, ‘O Jibra-eel ! Go and look at it’ He went and looked at it. He returned and said, ‘O my RABB By Your Splendour, and Your Greatness, I fear that not a person will remain but will enter it’”
